Quarterly Email - Fall 2015

Hey All ~

Attached is the schedule for Sept, Oct, and November! It is on the blogspot as well so you can reference it any time!

Two reminders: First of all, PLEASE make a note of when you are on and mark it right away. Over the last several months, there were multiple conflicts that left us short on a Sunday. While emergencies are unavoidable, please do whatever you can to keep your calendar clear on the weekends you are scheduled for worship! Thanks!

Secondly, I included the devotions schedule as I have been doing - you'll see it right under the date as well as who is leading devotions that weekend. It is great for everyone (whether scheduled or not) to take time and read the Psalm for each week, so I encourage you to do so. But, especially if you have volunteered to lead devotions, please don't overlook that schedule - mark it down and be ready to share a short thought with the group for rehearsal.

Lastly, keep the morning of November 14th open for our "Heart to Heart" if at all possible - I haven't heard back from anyone with conflicts yet, so I'm hoping for a 100% attendance!

See you all tomorrow - have a great Saturday!
Dana
PS - Song Sets coming soon!

New Songs (Fall 2015 - Spring 2016)

"NO OTHER NAME" (Hillsong United)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wku9OphQ7JE  - Key of G (we'll drop it to the key of E)

"NO OTHER NAME" - LIVE VERSION (Hillsong United)

"NO LONGER A SLAVE" (Bethel Music/Jonathon Helser)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8TkUMJtK5k - Key of Bb (we may raise is to C...or drop it to E....haven't decided yet)

"JESUS WE LOVE YOU" (Bethel Music/Paul McClure)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TCWaNP96AA - Key of B (we'll drop it to A)
There's a random bit of "sing out a new song" - nothing wrong with that, but we won't likely include that at this point. ☺

"EVEN SO COME" (Kristian Stanfill)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBHcvJhc6Pk - Key of G (we'll drop it to E?)

"IT IS WELL" - LIVE VERSION (Bethel Music/Kristene DiMarco)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNqo4Un2uZI Key of G - SAME KEY we'll use

"IT IS WELL" - with lyrics (Bethel Music)

"STILL" (Hillsong United)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4n01-5SQFa8 - Key of C - SAME KEY we'll use)  Interlude gets big with horns, spontaneous worship, etc...we'll skip that and keep it more reflective. This is actually a pretty old song (2002) but I think it's a powerful message so we'll see how to format it best - the chorus is just so fantastic!

"I SURRENDER" (Hillsong United)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFORjUcHkKU - Key of F (we'll drop it to D). Matt led it for the Baptism service in E, but it's a bit too high at the bridge for the ladies.

"HOLY SPIRIT" - with lyrics (Francesca Battistelli)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SS5S8Unvm48 - Key of D - SAME KEY we'll use

"HOLY SPIRIT" - LIVE VERSION Kari Jobe/Cody Carne - key of E....we could also use this key - either D or E work. (This is classic Kari in that around 5 minutes and something she goes all spontaneous worship, so enjoy....it goes about 9 minutes all together!)

"GOOD GOOD FATHER" - LIVE VERSION (Bethel Music)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjEYtaD-Ywg - Key of D - SAME KEY we'll use but this version has a few extra bridges, endings, etc. The link below in the Key of A is closer to the map we'll follow.

"GOOD GOOD FATHER" - LIVE VERSION (Bethel Music & Pat Barrett)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djrY_eFDOwE - key of A (wrong key - we'll play it in D...see link above)

Re: TEEN SERVICE (Worship Set & Stuff)

Thank you Dana!

Hi Team!
I'm pretty excited about the Teen Service this upcoming Sunday and the time of worship our teens will be leading! I am shooting out this email to the "masses" so that I've covered as many bases as we can without things falling through the cracks.

First of all, for Dave: The set list for the songs that Dylan and I worked through are as follows (in this order):

I Will Follow
Christ Is Enough
How Deep the Father's Love
How Great is Our God (chorus only)
God of this City

If you'd like to pass on this info (and the links below and/or lyric charts) to the vocalists, go for it. I am also going to post them to the Hope Music blogspot and they can find them there. (hcfmusic.blogspot.com) There is nothing planned for a "closing song" - so if you want to do something, for that, you can work out whatever you'd like. ☺

For the band - Josh, Dylan & Dustin: The links for 4 of the 5 songs are included and on the blogspot (I didn't include How Great is Our God for obvious reasons....we can all play it in our sleep!) So use whatever you need to be familiar with the songs.

For the band & Sound team/Media team: I will be shooting out the PDF's with maps of the sets as well as the normal "cheat chart" that you're used to getting on Thursdays. Since your rehearsal is Thursday night (6:30pm), I'll be sending that by this evening - at the latest. So, be looking for that. I am also including 2 new Singer Sheets (lyrics) in this email for the Media team to add to the lyrics folder. NOTE: For "How Deep the Father's Love" - we are only going to do Verse 1, Verse 3, and the Tag (please leave out Verse 2)

I don't know the deets on the vocalists, but the band will be Dylan (guitar and vocal), Dustin (drums), and Josh (bass). My guess is that we'll be adding 2-3 of the teen girls to round out some vocals, but Dave will know better on that).

OK - I think that's it for now. Please let me know if you need anything more from me and I'm happy to do whatever I can. Looking forward to a great service!
Dana :)

Some Stuff and Fall Availability 2015 :)

Hi Team!

I hope you are all enjoying your week and staying cool in this summer heat! I'm looking forward to this Sunday and the VBS closing program....I think the whole week at Hope has been a blast for the kids as well as the adults - it's so cool to see all that they're doing to reach these kids and show the love and power of God! ðŸ˜Š
So, here's what's up!

1. We have a whole month left of this hot summer and I'm not trying to rush anything, but since I had some other stuff to touch base on, I figured I would go ahead and request your "UNAVAILABLE" dates for Sept, Oct, and Nov. There is no pressure to jump on it, but I'll be hoping to hear from you by the middle of August - let's say by Monday, 8/17. As far as I can tell, the only date that we will NOT have a Saturday night rehearsal is on Halloween, 10/31. We'll be bumping rehearsal to Thursday, 10/29 at 7:00 pm, so keep that in mind as you look at your availability.

2. This is mainly for the band: I have a correction on a key for a new song. I initially added "Breathe on Us" to the blogspot and indicated that we would raise it 1/2 step from F# to G major - which we did and we'll keep! Then, I added "Hands to the Heavens" and said we would play it in the original key, but mistakenly thought it was G since it was the same as "Breathe on Us". BUT, the link is actually in F# - so we will raise it 1/2 step to G as well. Please note that as you practice it on your own. I'm sorry for the confusion!

3. Stuff coming up! Our sound team and some of you who are involved have already gotten a "heads up" on this, but I wanted to let the whole team know that we are going to be trying out some ideas and making some adjustments on the stage. There are a handful of reasons, but one of the main ones is to reduce the stage sound and bring some clarity to the band and the vocalists, and give our sound team more control over the room. We are going to be resetting the stage and possibly moving the drums to the side and elevating them, shifting the rest of the band as well, and possibly moving the singers to the stage. We are working toward evenly amplifying the drums levels by using sound dampening (already in the works, and/or plexi-glass panels), as well as moving our vocalists to a place where they have more clarity without extra things being picked up and amplified through their monitors.

We are 100% sure that we can improve overall, but as you know, we can't do anything unless we give it a shot...or maybe 10! ☺ The sound team has stuff in the works for cleaning up the house speakers and working toward in-ear monitoring for some of the band. We aren't sure what will work best, but as a team, I want everyone in the loop as much as possible. Thank you for your willingness to be flexible as we research and see what works and what doesn't.

As always, I am so thankful for each of you and for your hearts to serve! I know we haven't had a "worship workshop" since April of 2014, so I'm praying over 'what and when' God is leading us to put together....I have lots of thoughts, but some are still pretty disorganized, lol! So, pray for that to be clear and I'll touch base with everyone when it comes together!

Have a great afternoon - see you on the weekend!
Dana
