Song Set - Summer Quarter 2015

Hello Team!

What a crazy storm last night, right?!? I know there were several posts from people at Hope with lots of damage to their property and some near misses, so please keep each other and the community at large in your prayers. I know there are many who are still without power - so, be sure to touch base with each other and check in to see if anyone needs help!

I have attached the completed song schedule for the rest of this quarter. You'll notice that there are 2 new songs, but neither of them are difficult and I think they will be great for our church body!

One is called "Hands to the Heavens" by Kari Jobe. I added it to the blogspot in February under "Song Links". I am also adding the other one called "This I Believe (The Creed)" by Hillsongs United. Matt Russell has led it for Wednesday night Bible study in the past and most recently at the Baptism service – great song and probably familiar to most of you.

Aside from posting everything on hcfmusic.blogspot.com, I will attach links to the new songs and the song schedule. J

There is lots of variation in our summer schedule (VBS Kick-off on 7/26, VBS Closing Program on 8/2, and Teen Service on 8/16) that will make it almost impossible to have a rehearsal on the new songs prior to the weekend we'll be introducing them. SO, please take time to get familiar with the new songs by listening to the links often! 

I wanted to mention that Joe Hurtado (electric guitarist) has shared that God is leading him on from Hope. He has been playing guitar in some churches down the shore and feels that he can't commit to our team at this point.  Please keep their family in prayer as we trust God to lead in them and feel free to reach out as God lays it on your heart! Meanwhile, we'll be trusting God to fill that gap in our team!

Continue to keep each other in prayer – we're grateful to hear that Jenn's surgery went well and she is ready to jump back in on the team! Keep Frank in prayer for strength and healing, Ellen Boales sister, Lisa who is battling cancer, Ron Patterson's 5 year old daughter and the possibility of heart surgery, as well as many other team members with ongoing health issues. I also think of the many job situations that are in flux right now – Kathy and Melissa both come to mind. So, there's lots of reasons to be praying…what a privilege to help carry these burdens to the Lord on one another's behalf!

I think that's it for now! So grateful for each of you and for the way God keeps growing us together - even when we don't realize it! God has been abundantly blessing at Hope and sometimes we don't get to see all that is going on in the spiritual realm, but we can be confident that as we continue to "keep on keeping on" we will see the harvest! This is in the Key of C and we'll be dropping it to the Key of G...I know that seems like a pretty big drop, but when Matt led it for the Baptism Service, he led it in A which was decent overall...just a little high at the bridge. So, we'll give it a shot in G. :)
